Ceremonies on Location
The Rose Garden
($200 plus chair rental)
Always beautiful in the summer, the rose garden is the perfect location for any size wedding ceremony. Guests sit among the roses as the ceremony takes place on the Pergola steps. White folding chairs are set up along the stone paths with the center path left open for the aisle. Power is available in the garden however speakers and music are not and are the responsibility of the client. All decorating is also the responsibility of the client. There is no alternate location in the event of inclement weather (unless you have the facility rented for your reception). This garden has a maximum of 200 people. A permit is required to rent this space.
You may choose to have a “ceremony only” in the Rose Garden and travel elsewhere for your reception. In this case the garden is rented in 2 hour afternoon time slots. We can rent the space from 12pm – 2pm for a “ceremony only”. You will not have access to the facility with this option.
Those that choose to have their ceremony in the rose garden along with their reception at the Marcy Casino can utilize the later time slots in the garden. The cocktail portion of your reception will begin immediately after the conclusion of the ceremony allowing your guests to get started!
The Japanese Garden
Beautiful, quiet and serene the Japanese garden is perfect for a small, intimate ceremony. This garden is located just below the Historical Museum on Mirror Pond. We do not supply chairs for this garden and there is no power available. You can rent this space in 2 hour time slots throughout the day. This garden has a maximum of 40 people. A permit is required to rent this space.
FAQ about Ceremonies
Can I rent the Rose Garden for my ceremony and not use the facility for my reception?
Yes, you will need to obtain a permit through the Casino to utilize the space. The permit is $200.00 plus chair rental ($2 per) and tax. We rent the Rose Garden from 12-2pm.
Can I decorate the Rose Garden?
Yes, however décor set up and breakdown must take place during your contracted time slot for the garden. It is the responsibility of the client to remove all décor from the garden by the end of your contracted time slot.
What happens if it rains?
If you have the Marcy Casino facility rented for your reception, the ceremony will move to the lower covered patio. If you do not have the facility rented for your reception, there is no alternate location on site. A backup rain plan is the responsibility of the client.
Can I put up a tent in the Rose Garden?
No, Olmsted Parks does not allow tent set up in the garden.
Will I have access to the facility if I only rent the Rose Garden for my ceremony and not my reception?
No, there is no access of any sort into the Marcy casino with a “ceremony only” rental.
Is there power and speakers available in the Rose Garden/Japanese garden?
There is power available in the Rose Garden only. There are no speakers available in either garden. Anything sound related is the responsibility of the client.
Do I need a permit to use the Rose garden or Japanese garden for ceremony use?
Yes, a permit is required for ceremony use in either garden. This permit reserves the garden and gives you rights to it for such date and time. You can obtain a permit for either garden through the Marcy Casino. Please contact via email for availability email@example.com
Can I rent different chairs for my ceremony?
Yes, however set up and breakdown of the alternate chairs are the responsibility of the client or contracted rental company. The chairs must be set up at the start of your contracted time slot and must be removed from the garden by the end of your contracted time slot. The Marcy Casino will not break down or store your alternate chairs in the facility. We will only set up and break down our own white chairs.

FAQ about Receptions
How early can I arrive to the facility the day of my reception?
Early arrival time the day of will need to be coordinated with the “day of” manager. Generally 11:00 am is the earliest that you would have access to the inside of the facility.
Can I decorate the outside tented area for my reception?
Yes, however any décor that is hung by the client is the clients responsibility to remove at the end of the reception. Decorating of the tented area can only be done the day of your reception, not the night before.
Will I be able to decorate inside for my reception the evening before?
This will need to be coordinated with a manager. It will depend if there is another event taking place at the Casino the evening prior.
Does the casino provide any décor?
No, all décor is the responsibility of the client.
Who is responsible for decorating and cleaning up?
All décor set up and break down is the responsibility of the client unless alternate arrangements have been made with a manager. All décor must be removed from the facility at the conclusion of your reception unless alternate arrangements have been made with a manager.
Are candles allowed?
Yes, however no open flame candles. They need to be enclosed in a votive or lantern.
Is there a Bridal room? Yes
Is there a Groomsmen room? No
Can the bridesmaids arrive early to get ready in the bridal room?
Yes, however power outlets are limited in the bridal room. There are no power outlets in the ladies restroom.
Can I rent my own specialty tablecloths & chair covers?
Yes, however it is the responsibility of the client or contracted rental company to put the cloths/chair covers on and to remove them from the facility at the conclusion of your reception unless alternate arrangements have been made with a manager.
Who is responsible for my card box and gifts?
It is the responsibility of the client to secure all valuable belongings. Marcy Casino / Magnolia Events management or Staff is not responsible for moving or securing your card box or gifts at any time throughout your reception.
Is there a separate cake cutting fee?
No, all costs are packaged and priced per person.
Can I bring in cookies in addition to my wedding cake?
Yes, “Grandma’s” cookies are always welcome. We ask that they arrive pre-plattered unless alternate arrangements have been made with management.
Can I bring in my own specialty dinner wine?
Yes, however there is a $10 per bottle corking fee.
Do you offer a champagne toast for all of my guests?
Guests will arrive to their dinner table with a drink of choice in hand.
Do I need to hire a “day of coordinator”?
A “day of coordinator” is highly beneficial to you throughout your entire day. This person is especially beneficial during the ceremony portion of your day to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Your event planner/manager at the Marcy Casino will run the reception portion of the evening, but will not be present during your Rose Garden ceremony.
When is final payment due for my reception?
Final payment is due 24 hours before the start of your event. Arrangements will be made with Marcy casino/Magnolia management for receipt of payment.
Can I make small payments along the way?
Yes, any payments made along the way will be deducted from your final bill along with your original deposit.
How should I pay?
Preferred method of payment is by certified bank / cashier’s check made payable to Magnolia Events. We also accept personal checks and credit card payments. Any VISA or MC payment has an additional 3% finance charge. Any AMEX payment has an additional 4% finance charge.
Can I choose my own caterer?
No, Magnolia Events has sole catering rights to the Marcy casino.
Are there minimum guest requirements?
No, we do not require a minimum guest count, however you must hit the “food & beverage” minimum that is required for such date.
If I only rent one floor of the facility, will there be another event taking place on the opposite floor?
We reserve the right to book an event in any un-contracted space of the facility.
Where do my guests park?
Parking is on Lincoln Parkway as we do not have our own private lot. You can upgrade to ALLPRO Valet service for an additional fee. Pricing for Valet will depend on your guest count. Valet parking is highly recommended.
4 hours of open bar
For receptions we recommend 1.5 hours for cocktail hour and 2.5 hours following dinner service.
Additional ½ hours of bar service can be added for $2.50 per guest.
